Teaching Philosophy

I believe that music is a core element of the growing child's education. I want to allow music to help build my student's sense of responsibility and teamwork, while encouraging an atmosphere that promotes leadership and a feeling of student ownership of the program. Teaching children various musical styles will help them understand the world around them, its history, and how to better interact with other colleagues after they leave school. I fully intend on making my music program a opportunity for both parents and students to become more involved with the school, as well as providing an atmosphere where children have a sense of pride and accomplishment that they may not feel in other facets of school. I hope to make the program open to all the students of the school, while using the program to enrich the lives of students who are not involved in the music program.
