Type of Assignment

P. K. Yonge Teaching Experiences

Description of Assignment

Throughout my teaching at P. K. Yonge I tried to make the students as comfortable as possible and maintain a positive environment where students could express themselves musically. This fulfills the criteria in Accomplished Practice #9 by:

Artistic Processes/Medium

1.  Performing - Singing
2.  Creating - Improvising
3.  Responding - Listening

Rationale

When you create a positive atmosphere in the classroom, students want to become more involved in the lesson and are more eager to learn. With constant positive praise throughout the lesson it helps students to feel they are accomplishing great goals and has them develop a sense of responsibility and self-discipline.
