Activity #3- "Shake my sillies out"

Description of Assignment

In this activity I was surprised to realize that the students had previously learned this song so I thought on my feet and moved onto adding the movement and new verses. In order to accomplish both these tasks, effective communication with the children, that they would comprehend, needed to be used. This fulfills the criteria in the Accomplished Practice 2 by:

• Uses correct grammar in speaking and writing
• Instructs students in a clear and understandable manner
• Communicates purpose and value of music instruction to students, parents, and other interested persons

Performing- Singing and Creative movement

Rationale

I chose this illustration because it demonstrates the effective communication that went on between the students and I. This is shown with how well the students were able to process and pick up what I was trying to get across to them verbally and physically through movement. All of this was helped by correct use of grammar and my ability to instruct students in a clear and understandable manner.
