Illustration # 3

Source of Illustration

Professor

Dr. Russell Robinson

Semester

Fall 2007

Type of Assignment

Diamond View Elementary Teaching Experience

Description of Assignment

Throughout my teaching at Diamond View I tried to make the students as comfortable as possible and maintain a positive environment where students could express themselves musically. The school has a rewards system called Diamond Dollars which I would give out to well behaved students or students who answered my questions. This fulfills the criteria in Accomplished Practice #9 by:

Artistic Processes/Medium

No Performance Medium

Rationale

When you create a positive atmosphere in the classroom, students want to become more involved in the lesson and are more eager to learn. With constant positive praise throughout the lesson it helps students to feel they are accomplishing great goals and has them develop a sense of responsibility and self-discipline.
