Lesson "Letting Go"
Description of Assignment
In this lesson I taught the Girl's choir "Letting Go". During this teaching I tried to make the students as comfortable as possible and maintain a positive environment where students could express themselves musically. I was friendly with the students while still maintaining professionalism and gave them appropriate praise throughout the lesson for things such as good posture and behavior. This fulfills the criteria in Accomplished Practice #9 by:
Artistic Processes/Medium
Performance: Singing
Rationale
When you create a positive atmosphere in the classroom, students want to become more involved in the lesson and are more eager to learn. With constant positive praise throughout the lesson it helps students to feel they are accomplishing great goals and has them develop a sense of responsibility and self-discipline.
