Lesson #2 of "Come to my Garden"

Description of Assignment

In this lesson I was running through the previously learned piece "Come to my Garden" but needed to rehearse the more difficult sections throughout the piece. In order for the students to rehearse specific sections and work on musical style I had to be effective in my communication with things like measure numbers since I was not rehearsing the piece squencially. I also commucated to the students through my conducting which showed the dynamics, tempo, and style. In order to accomplish both these tasks, effective communication with the students needed to be used. This fulfills the criteria in the Accomplished Practice 2 by:

Artistic Processes/Medium

Performing- Singing

Responding:  Interpreting Conducting

Rationale

I chose this illustration because it demonstrates the effective communication that went on between the students and I. This is shown with how well the students were able to process and pick up what I was trying to get across to them verbally and physically through movement. All of this was helped by correct use of grammar, musical vocabulary, and my ability to instruct students in a clear and understandable manner.
