Teaching Philosophy
Music is such an important component of human life everywhere around the world, regardless of culture or language. Music is a vessel for self expression and creativity. It is also one of the most highly cognitive processes available to young students. As a music educator, I strive to provide students with the means to explore the creativity that music offers. I believe every student deserves the chance to take part in musical endeavors, and I want every student to have an opportunity to be successful at music. Being successful at music is learning to play a first note on an instrument, creating and improvising music with an instrument, listening and sharing favorite songs or pieces, or even performing an advanced concerto. All of this occurs in a friendly, caring, instructional environment. Every student deserves to be successful at music.
